Code execution via installer DLL search path
Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
DLL hijacking in Siemens Web Installer Application allows local users to execute code when a legitimate user installs an affected product. The setup component searches its working directory for DLLs without restricting loads to trusted paths, so it loads an attacker-planted library. An attacker must place a malicious DLL in the setup directory and wait for installer execution; exposure exists only during setup.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
