Administrative code execution via executable search hijacking
Published Apr 8, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2025
Privilege escalation in Siemens License Server before 4.3 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with administrative privileges. The application searches its installation directory for executable files without validating which binary it loads, allowing a planted executable to be selected. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, write access to that directory, and user interaction before the planted code runs with administrative rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
