CVE-2025-29995Network attack vector

Account takeover via weak password-reset APIs

Published Mar 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

Weak password recovery in Rising Technosoft CAP back office application before 2.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts. The password-reset API endpoints apply a weak recovery mechanism, but CERT-In has not disclosed the request fields, validation failure, or token-handling error. Exploitation requires a valid login ID and successful interaction with a vulnerable endpoint, after which the targeted user's account is controlled.
