Authenticated root command execution

Published Apr 3, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Command execution in Dell PowerProtect Data Domain with DD OS before 8.3.0.15 allows remote authenticated users to run commands as root. Dell identifies insufficiently granular access control but has not disclosed the affected command-processing locus or the authorization operation it performs incorrectly.
