CVE-2025-29984

Local privilege escalation via unsafe installation permissions

Published Apr 15, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Incorrect default permissions in Dell Trusted Device Client before 7.0.3.0 allow local users to elevate privileges after installation. The installer assigns unsafe permissions to undisclosed installation resources when the client is placed outside its default path. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, user interaction, and a non-default installation path, and grants elevated control over the host.
