Local code execution via unchecked return value
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Unchecked return handling in AMD PMF on affected Ryzen processors allows local users to execute arbitrary code or crash the system. AMD has not identified the failed call; the PMF driver fails to check its return value, enabling a subsequent write to an arbitrary memory address. Low-privileged local access is required, and exploitation can interrupt service or execute code in the driver's privileged context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
