Local privilege escalation via PMF out-of-bounds write
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in AMD Platform Management Framework on affected Ryzen systems allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges. AMD has not disclosed the PMF driver entry point, the attacker-controlled input, or the missing bounds check that permits the write. Low-privileged local access is required; successful exploitation can modify kernel-level execution and interrupt the system without user interaction.
