Detection bypass in OISF Suricata before 7.0.9 allows remote attackers to evade inspection by sending fragmented packets. With AF_PACKET defrag enabled, the capture path reassembles fragments beyond its interface-MTU-derived 1,514-byte packet buffer and passes only the captured bytes to the engine. The option is enabled by default on Linux AF_PACKET deployments, so concealed content beyond that limit is neither inspected nor logged.
