CVE-2025-29913Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Application crash via underflowed MAC buffer index

Published Mar 17, 2025 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Heap buffer over-read in NASA CryptoLib 1.3.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash applications via a crafted TC frame. Crypto_TC_Prep_AAD computes tc_mac_start_index with unsigned subtraction and passes the underflowed offset into memcpy, which reads beyond the ingest buffer. Processing an attacker-supplied telecommand frame is required; the demonstrated consequence is a segmentation-fault crash, while arbitrary code execution is reported but not demonstrated.
