CVE-2025-29873Network attack vector

Authenticated service crash via NULL pointer dereference

Published Jun 6, 2025 · Updated Jun 6, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in QNAP File Station 5 before 5.5.6.4847 allows remote authenticated users to crash the service over the network. QNAP identifies a NULL pointer dereference but has not disclosed the affected request handler, input field, or operation that supplies the NULL value. A valid user account is required, and the documented consequence is a File Station service crash with no reported data read or write impact.
