CVE-2025-29872Network attack vector

Service interruption via unthrottled resource allocation

Published Jun 6, 2025 · Updated Jun 6, 2025

Resource exhaustion in QNAP File Station 5 5.5.x before 5.5.6.4847 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service availability. The affected code allocates a reusable resource for authenticated requests without enforcing a quantity limit or throttling; QNAP has not identified the resource or code locus. A valid user account and network access are required, and exploitation denies other systems, applications, or processes access to that resource.
