Authenticated image-file read and write via traversal
Published Dec 4, 2025 · Updated Dec 4, 2025
Path traversal in FileStation thumb CGI in Synology SRM 1.3 allows remote authenticated users to read or write image files. The CGI improperly limits attacker-controlled pathnames when selecting image files, but Synology has not disclosed the affected parameter or exact filesystem operation. A valid SRM account and network access to FileStation are required; the published impact is limited to reading or modifying image files.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
