ZIP filename disclosure via traversable db parameter
Published Mar 25, 2025 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Path traversal in OpenEMR before 7.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to list ZIP files in arbitrary server directories. The interface/code_systems/list_staged.php endpoint uses the unvalidated db query parameter to select a directory and returns matching ZIP filenames. Exploitation requires high-privilege access and active interaction with Admin > Coding > External Data Loads; disclosed content is limited to filenames.
