CVE-2025-29778Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cluster compromise via ignored certificate regex constraints

Published Mar 24, 2025 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

Improper authorization in Kyverno 1.13.0 through 1.13.5 allows remote authenticated users to admit improperly signed images. The keyless verifier checks only literal subject and issuer fields and silently omits configured subjectRegExp and issuerRegExp constraints. Exploitation requires permission to push an image and deploy a Kubernetes resource, plus a signing key chained to a trusted certificate authority; the bypass admits unauthorized workloads and can compromise the cluster.
