CVE-2025-29757Network attack vector

Plant takeover via unchecked transfer authorization

Published Jul 19, 2025 · Updated Jul 22, 2025

Incorrect authorization in Growatt OSS and ShineServer before 13 June 2025 allows remote authenticated users to take control of any plant. The plant transfer function accepts a target plant for reassignment without verifying that the requesting installer account is authorized to transfer it. A free installer account is sufficient to silently reassign an installation, exposing its data and controls and enabling the attacker to shut it down.
