Device takeover via weak default SSH credentials

Use of default credentials in Gardyn Home Kit Firmware before master.619 allows remote attackers to gain system-level SSH access. The firmware provisions the hybriponics148 and root accounts with shared, publicly documented passwords accepted by SSH and su. An attacker must reach the device over the local network; successful login permits device control and access to stored data.
