Authenticated privilege escalation via cross-account password change
Published Aug 25, 2025 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Incorrect access control in D-Link DSL-7740C firmware DSL7740C.V6.TR069.20211230 allows remote authenticated users to gain elevated privileges. The Maintenance module processes a password change targeting a high-privilege account without enforcing the caller's privilege boundary. A low-level account and network access to the management interface are required; successful exploitation enables takeover of a privileged account.
