Service interruption via leaked PLACEOBJECT3 strings
Published Mar 27, 2025 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Memory leak in libming 0.4.8 allows context-dependent attackers to interrupt SWF-processing services with a crafted SWF file. The parseSWF_PLACEOBJECT3 path calls readString in util/parser.c and fails to release the resulting allocation after parsing. The file must be processed by a libming utility or consuming application; the published impact is limited to availability.
