CVE-2025-29471Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator escalation via stored email-field script

Published Apr 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Stored XSS in Nagios Log Server 2024R1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access through a crafted email field. The profile update endpoint stores an email value without neutralizing script markup, and the audit-log view renders it in an administrator's browser. A standard account must save the payload and an administrator must view the audit log; the script then issues a same-origin request that creates an administrator account.
