Authenticated sensitive-data disclosure via Mail-function SSRF
Published Apr 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
SSRF in the Mail function in MyBB 1.8.38 allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive data through server-issued requests. The public report does not identify the Mail parameter or code path that reaches MyBB's fetch_remote_file() routine; MyBB documents host and IPv4 deny lists around that routine. Board-administrator access is required, and MyBB disputes the issue because administrators may perform the action and SSRF controls restrict private destinations.
