Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked strcpy copy
Published Mar 14, 2025 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC9 1.0 firmware 15.03.05.14_multi allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via the mac parameter. The fromAdvSetMacMtuWan handler passes the untrusted mac value to strcpy in sub_7345C without checking the destination buffer's capacity. A crafted HTTP POST to the router's management interface can overwrite the stack, causing a crash or attacker-controlled code execution without authentication.
