CVE-2025-2937Network attack vector

Authenticated service interruption via Wiki markdown regex

Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025

Regular expression denial of service in affected GitLab CE/EE versions allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service through Wiki markdown. The Wiki renderer applies an inefficient regular expression to attacker-controlled markdown, but GitLab has not disclosed the expression or code locus. A valid account is required to submit the payload, and the published impact is limited to availability loss with no reported data disclosure or modification.
