Comment deletion and user unblocking via missing nonces
Published Jun 6, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Stop Spammers Classic 2024.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete pending comments. The administrative handlers in settings/ss_option_maint.php and settings/ss_user_filter_list.php process state-changing requests without correct WordPress nonce validation. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow a forged request, which can also re-enable a previously blocked user.
