Network disruption via malformed LLDP end TLV
Published Mar 24, 2025 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Packet deserialization in ONOS 2.7.0 allows remote attackers to disrupt managed network state via a crafted LLDP packet. The LLDP processing path fails when the packet's end TLV is changed to 0200 or another TLV type, disrupting deserialization. An attacker-controlled host attached beneath a managed switch can force switch reconnection, flow-table reinstallation, and loss and rediscovery of host and topology state.
