Authenticated service crash via oversized wifiSSID
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W18E v2.0 firmware 16.01.0.11 allows remote authenticated users to cause a service crash. The /goform/setModules handler fails to bound the wifiSSID value supplied in a crafted POST request, allowing it to overwrite a stack buffer. Network access with low privileges is required, and the documented consequence is service interruption rather than data disclosure or modification.
