Authenticated service crash via unchecked deviceList copy
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 21, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX12 firmware 22.03.01.46_CN allows remote authenticated users to crash the web service. The sub_42F69C handler for /goform/setMacFilterCfg passes the deviceList request field to sub_42E410, which copies carriage-return-prefixed content into a 160-byte stack buffer without checking its length. The published proof of concept uses an authorized request with a password cookie; oversized input terminates the process with a segmentation fault, interrupting the service.
