CVE-2025-2919Public exploit

Root shell access via unauthenticated UART console

Published Mar 28, 2025 · Updated Mar 28, 2025

Improperly exposed UART debug access in Netis WF-2404 1.1.124EN allows physically proximate attackers to obtain a root shell. The board exposes UART RX and TX test points that open a BusyBox shell as root at 38,400 baud without presenting a login prompt. Exploitation requires opening the router and attaching a serial bridge, after which the shell can read files and change persistent flash parameters.
