CVE-2025-29156Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Browser code execution via stored pet names

Published Sep 25, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in SmartBear Swagger Petstore 1.0.7 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via POST /api/v3/pet. The endpoint accepts a crafted name value without filtering or encoding, stores the payload, and the front end later renders it without sanitization. No authentication is required to submit the payload, but another user must view the affected pet details; execution occurs in that user's browser and can expose or alter data accessible to the page.
