Authenticated file deletion via unrestricted path concatenation
Published Apr 10, 2025 · Updated Apr 10, 2025
Path traversal in publish.php in BlueCMS 1.6 allows remote authenticated users to delete server files through a crafted id parameter. The deletion branch appends id to BLUE_ROOT without a path restriction, checks the resulting path, and passes it directly to unlink(). A valid low-privilege session is required, and deletion is limited to files that the web-server account can remove.
