Router crash via oversized src parameter
Published Mar 19, 2025 · Updated Mar 21, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda AC8 firmware 16.03.34.06 allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to crash the router via a crafted src parameter. The sub_47D878 function processes the attacker-controlled src value without enforcing the bounds of its destination stack buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must reach the router from an adjacent network; the documented consequence is a service-interrupting crash rather than data access or modification.
