CVE-2025-2900Network attack vector

Runtime crash via native AES/CBC buffer overflow

Published May 14, 2025 · Updated Aug 28, 2025

Heap buffer overflow in IBM Semeru Runtimes allows remote attackers to crash the process through crafted AES/CBC encryption input. The native AES/CBC encryption implementation writes beyond a heap buffer while processing attacker-controlled encryption input, terminating the runtime. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented impact is a runtime crash rather than data disclosure or modification.
