Arbitrary file read via attacker-controlled webserver URL
Published May 14, 2025 · Updated May 14, 2025
Externally controlled references in Schneider Electric Modicon Controllers allow remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the webserver. The controller webserver accepts an attacker-controlled URL and resolves it to resources outside its intended control sphere without authentication. Network access is sufficient; the issue affects M241/M251 before 5.3.12.48 and all M258/LMC058 versions, exposing stored confidential data without reported integrity or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
