Cross-scope role revocation via omitted authorization check
Published Apr 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2025
Improper authorization in RUoYi 4.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to revoke users from roles outside their permitted data scope. The SysRoleController.cancelAuthUserAll method passes attacker-controlled roleId and userIds to deleteAuthUsers without checking the target role's data scope. Access requires the system:role:edit permission, and exploitation changes other users' role assignments rather than executing code.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
