CVE-2025-2830Network attack vector

Directory listing disclosure via malformed attachment filename

Published Apr 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026

Path traversal in Mozilla Thunderbird before 128.9.2 and 129.0 through 137.0.1 allows remote attackers to disclose directory listings. Multipart attachment handling treats a malformed filename as a filesystem path and includes the target directory listing in the composed message. Disclosure occurs only when the recipient forwards the crafted message or edits it as a new message, and Linux and Windows behavior is documented.
