CVE-2025-2818

File interception via unauthenticated Bluetooth recipient

Published Jul 17, 2025 · Updated Jul 17, 2025

Information disclosure in Motorola Mobility Smart Connect before 08.0.1.011.0 allows physically proximate attackers to intercept files over Bluetooth. The Android app's Bluetooth Transmission Alliance protocol 1.0 implementation does not authenticate a file-transfer recipient, exposing transfers to an unpaired device. The attacker must be within Bluetooth range while a file is sent to a device that is not paired in Smart Connect; the same BLE advertisements also expose device names and IDs for tracking.
