Unauthenticated service interruption via unchecked CGI copy
Published Mar 27, 2025 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK A810R 4.1.2cu.5182_B20201026 allows remote attackers to interrupt router service via an HTTP request. The downloadFile.cgi handler copies user-controlled v5 data derived through v14 into the v27 stack buffer without length validation; a final payload segment longer than 132 bytes overflows it. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the published assessment limits demonstrated impact to a remotely triggered service interruption.
