Device denial of service via unauthenticated ReDoS
Published Apr 26, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2025
ReDoS in GL.iNet router firmware 4.x allows remote attackers to disrupt affected devices through an unauthenticated RPC request. The ui.load_locales RPC method processes an attacker-controlled locale containing repeated regular-expression metacharacters and enters an infinite loop. Network access to the management interface is sufficient; the request drives CPU use to 100% and impairs normal device operation.
