Authenticated SQL query execution via admin CLI
Published May 13, 2025 · Updated May 14, 2025
SQL injection in rebuild 3.9.0 through 3.9.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute database queries through the admin CLI. The /admin/admin-cli/exec endpoint accepts a quote-bearing syscfg value that breaks into the backing SQL statement, and the published proof evaluates a nested query through updatexml. An administrator session and a request body not labeled application/x-www-form-urlencoded are required; the demonstrated consequence is database-account disclosure through an error.
