Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unvalidated handler input
Published Apr 26, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in AbcSubmit for WordPress 1.2.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes without authentication. The unauthenticated handler in abcsubmit.php passes a request-controlled value directly to do_shortcode without validating which shortcode will run. Any network client that can reach the WordPress site can invoke installed shortcode handlers, so resulting access and data impact depend on those handlers.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
