Stored script execution via unsanitized event tag
Published Jul 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Event Manager 3.1.49 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the tag-name parameter. The event-tag field handling stores tag-name input without sufficient sanitization and later renders it without adequate output escaping. Administrator access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; injected scripts run when a user opens the affected page.
