Password disclosure via readable Designer configuration files
Published Mar 10, 2025 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Credential exposure in Nintex Automation 5.6 through 5.7 allows local users to read passwords from K2 SmartForms Designer files. Installation permissions leave web.config files in the Designer folder readable even though they contain stored passwords. Local file access is required, and the disclosed credentials expose the resources protected by those passwords.
