Cleartext password theft via arbitrary link injection
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated Jul 10, 2025
URL redirection in Wing FTP Server before 7.4.4 allows remote attackers to steal cleartext passwords through crafted links. The downloadpass.html endpoint accepts an unvalidated url value and appends the victim's entered password to that attacker-controlled destination. Exploitation requires the victim to open the crafted link, enter a weblink password, and submit the form; disclosure can enable account compromise.
