CVE-2025-2787Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cluster takeover via admission-controller configuration injection

Published Mar 26, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2025

Code injection in ingress-nginx in KNIME Business Hub allows remote authenticated users to execute code from within the Kubernetes cluster. The admission controller generates an NGINX configuration from an untrusted AdmissionReview and runs nginx -t, permitting an injected ssl_engine directive to load an attacker-supplied shared library. An authenticated Business Hub user must first gain reachability from a workload inside the cluster; code then runs in the ingress-nginx pod and can expose cluster-wide Secrets or enable cluster takeover.
