CVE-2025-27832

Memory corruption via integer-overflowed compression allocation

Published Mar 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Buffer overflow in the NPDL device in Artifex Ghostscript before 10.05.0 allows attackers to corrupt memory during compression. The compression-buffer size in contrib/japanese/gdevnpdl.c is calculated with int arithmetic, so a large size can wrap and produce an undersized allocation. The exact triggering NPDL input and post-corruption outcome are not publicly documented, so exposure depends on processing attacker-controlled NPDL content.
