Code execution via truncated DollarBlend length
Published Mar 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Buffer overflow in Artifex Ghostscript before 10.05.0 allows attackers to crash the interpreter or execute code via a crafted font. During Multiple Master font serialization, FAPI_FF_get_word accumulates the DollarBlend array length without rejecting values above max_ushort, and write_main_dictionary uses the truncated length to advance its output pointer before writing. Processing an attacker-supplied font is required; the resulting out-of-bounds write can interrupt document processing or execute code in the Ghostscript process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
