CVE-2025-27817Network attack vector

File read and SSRF via unrestricted OAuth endpoints

Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 10, 2025

SSRF and arbitrary file read in Apache Kafka Clients 3.1.0 through 3.9.0 allow remote authenticated users to access local or remote data. The SASL/OAUTHBEARER token and JWKS endpoint settings accept untrusted file or network URLs without restricting their destinations. Exploitation requires an application that lets an untrusted party supply client configuration, such as Kafka Connect REST access, and can expose disk or environment contents in error logs or send requests to unintended hosts.
