CVE-2025-27795

Service interruption via unchecked JXL dimensions

Published Mar 7, 2025 · Updated Mar 7, 2025

Resource exhaustion in GraphicsMagick before 1.3.46 allows attackers to interrupt image processing via a crafted JPEG XL image. ReadJXLImage accepts dimensions from JPEG XL basic information and fails to call CheckImagePixelLimits before output-buffer processing. The crafted file must be processed by a JXL-enabled build; oversized declared dimensions can consume excessive resources and interrupt the consuming process.
