CVE-2025-27792Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthorized state changes via omitted Referer header

Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Mar 12, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in OBiBa Opal before 5.1.1 allows remote attackers to modify data through a victim's authenticated browser. The application-wide request filter accepts state-changing form submissions when the Referer header is absent, so a malicious page can suppress that header and reuse the victim's session cookie. A victim must have an active Opal session and load attacker-controlled content; the demonstrated request grants a user project-administrator permission.
