Administrator takeover via unsafe Server URL XML parsing
Published May 7, 2025 · Updated Nov 19, 2025
XXE in SysAid On-Premises 23.3.40 and earlier allows remote attackers to read server files through the Server URL endpoint. The unauthenticated /mdm/serverurl handler passes the POST body to PropertyListParser.parse without disabling external entity resolution. A crafted external DTD can exfiltrate the single-line InitAccount.cmd file containing the main administrator password, enabling account takeover.
