Unauthenticated administrator takeover via Checkin external entities

Published May 7, 2025 · Updated Nov 19, 2025

XXE in SysAid On-Premises 23.3.40 and earlier allows remote attackers to read files and take over an administrator account. GetMdmMessage.doPost passes unauthenticated POST data from /mdm/checkin to PropertyListParser.parse with external entity resolution enabled. No credentials or user interaction are required; administrator takeover relies on the Windows installer retaining a single-line plaintext password in InitAccount.cmd.
